Matt Varga Will 2025 be the year that the Nike Pegasus 2k5 earnestly breaks through? Certainly among the models that best exemplifies Nike’s embrace of Y2K, it feels as if there’s been an uptick in colorways for the silhouette, partially motivated by a heavier push behind the Pegasus Wave alongside its parent model.
As always, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is just outside of view when discussing the Pegasus 2k5, particularly relevant with the “Safety Orange” look on display here. Much of the Vomero colorways you’ll catch on sidewalks now are essentially palette swaps on the same winning formula, and it’d appear the Swoosh is bringing the same motif to the Pegasus. Iterating on several previous looks, this shoe shares the same monochromatic starting point, lighting things up with “Safety Orange” in the midsole and on the Swoosh at the quarter.
Only time will tell if this formula will bear fruit in Beaverton, but the logic is sound in the attempt. Look for the Nike Zoom Pegasus 2k5 “Safety Orange” as a part of the Swoosh’s Spring 2025 offerings. Retail holds at the usual $150 sticker price.
