The overhanging message behind Jordan Brand’s Unbannable marketing assault suggests that if the Air Jordan 1 never came to be, then every subsequent model after would have never existed. Well, we all know the Air Jordan 1 was never actually banned, and Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe went on to set the foundation as the most successful athlete-turned-brand in history.

Of the many AJ1 off-shoots, few have garnered a response like the platformed Brooklyn model. Named after MJ’s birthplace and boasting a creeper boot-like aesthetic, the Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn comes back onto the radar in a crisp and clean all-white colorway (one that would not have been banned in the mid-1980s). Tumbled leather up top, and a monochrome white on the thick midsole with traction up its walls, this latest take features silver applications on the Wings logo on the heel and on the toe-tips.
