ASICS has increasingly drifted closer to the world of luxury/bespoke brands, and Denmark’s Cecilie Bahnsen might be the best example. Now a multi-time partner of the Japanese giant, the independent fashion label has brought an effeminate, floral touch to a tight crop of ASICS models since 2021 but may just be settling into their favorite. For the second Cecilie ASICS GEL-Terrain collaboration, a mid-top build appears for the first time, executing in two stealthy colorways.
As mentioned above, the flowery graphics that run from the Cecilie Bahnsen ASICS GEL-NYC in 2022 to the present day appear again, grafted both as puffy, abstract graphics on either shoe and thin embroidery on the “Pure Silver” edition. Honing in on that shoe, it’s a bit closer to the mainline GEL-Terrain we’re familiar with, adding pull-tabs onto the foot entrance and heel while adding a neoprene bootie to reach the “MT” height.
Swapping over to the “Midnight” colorway, a rainproof exterior sheath radically transforms the profile, carrying sheer synthetics dotted with that same floral geometry. A guiding philosophy for both shoes is a “worlds collide” execution, blending the ASICS trail running archive with the softened touch that the Denmark label brings to all of their work.
