While simple math meant we knew the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95 would be a focus for 2025, for the first few months of the year it was unclear exactly how Nike would capitalize on the moment. Sure, previously announced pairs like the “Neon” Air Max 95 and Corteiz Air Max 95 would be in the crosshairs, but how else would the brand fill out the calendar? A sudden influx of fresh colorways for the “Big Bubble” composition indicate that Beaverton has eyes on a more holistic approach, and the Nike Air Max 95 “Candy Cane” serves as the latest to come forward.
To clarify, certainly more collaborations could be coming down the pike, but this pair and outfits similar showcase how the “Big Bubble” continues to spread into more and more colorways rather than a single do-up siloed to Air Max Day 2025. This “Candy Cane” edition may not be an OG yet it strikes similar classic territory with a simplistic logline, utilizing a “Triple White” base with vivid “University Red” contrast stitching throughout. A stripe of light grey on the heel and the jet black Nike Air brand enclosed within interrupt this two-tone arrangement and fulfill the shades promised with the OG Air Max 95 tongue tag.
