Sneaker News Sneakers have long since been intertwined in the world of Japanese animation. Flip through pages of those comics from the Far East and it’ll be hard to ignore the sheer number of Nike and Jordan models drawn into each franchise’s respective universe. One of the most well-known cameos comes from Yu-Gi-Oh! and the Air Muscle, an official tribute to the Air Max 95 regularly worn by main character Katsuya Jonouchi aka Joey Wheeler.
That said, we’re bringing you exclusive news of an upcoming collaboration between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Nike for Fall 2025.
This project goes full circle by acknowledging the fictional Air Muscle, a regularly occurring set piece throughout the series that is nearly identical to the Air Max 95 “Neon”. Likely due to legal reasons, there was never a Swoosh logo or any direct reference to the official name of the shoe.
Furthermore, the upcoming release is officially called the Nike Air Max Muscle 95, bridging the gap between the iconic sneaker and the manga’s tribute to the shoe. Two colorways are expected to release this Fall 2025; it’s not clear if there will be any modifications to the actual build of the shoe as the shoe name may potentially suggest.
In addition to the two sneakers, a complete apparel collection will be featured, including a Nike Destroyer Jacket QS (IO7982-492) for $200 in Blue Void/Off White and two Nike Solo Swoosh Tees in Black (IO7985-010) and White (IO7985-100).
