Where’s the love for the Air Max 90? Yes, a 35th anniversary doesn’t roll off the tongue quite the way that the 30th for the Air Max 95 does. On the other hand, you only have to cross the hallway in Beaverton to see a red carpet rollout for the Jordan 5, minted in the exact same year. If anything, Air Max Day 2024 heavily centering a return to the “Big Bubble” build likely took some of the wind out of any potential 2025 year-long celebrations. If you read that opening line and thought “right here,” then you’re in luck still — mainline editions are still a familiar sight, like with the Nike Air Max 90 “Mag” at hand.

The overwhelmingly chilly atmosphere prompts us to draw that comparison to the everlasting grail, perhaps most striking with the cerulean Air unit underfoot and the slate grey leather overlays. Icy mesh in between paradoxically sets these up as fitting warm weather wear as vibrant tones get pulled out of the wardrobe once again.
