The Nike Air Max 90 Unearths “Ashen Slate”

This women's exclusive arrives Summer '25.

The Nike Air Max 90 Unearths “Ashen Slate”

Even if this year’s Air Max Day / Air Max Month festivities are of a more low-key tone and tenor than 2024, Nike has managed to bring their groundbreaking product line to the forefront without flashy plays like renting out Las Vegas’ Sphere. For our purposes, the chief way they’ve accomplished this is lining their servers with fresh looks of propositions new (Air Max DN8, Air Max Muse) and old (Air Max 95, Air Max Plus) all throughout March. Though it tends to be a common sight on Nike’s seasonal slate, this has brought some windfall to the Nike Air Max 90, capitalizing on an aquatic “Ashen Slate” colorway.

It’s an embrace of the cooler side of the color spectrum, present with both the namesake dusty blue on the quarter panel and the richer, deeper tones that overtake the leather mudguard and TPU panels on the midsole, heel and lace-stays. Given its gender-exclusive nature, foregrounding pastel ice blue on the sock-liner and various accents throughout the profile is a suitable choice, assisting in bringing some slight statement appeal to an otherwise tonal edition.

As mentioned in the subhead, the Nike Air Max 90 “Ashen Slate” is a women’s exclusive look, expected to hit the shelves in time for Summer ’25. Upon arrival, be ready for a $140 sticker price.
