Nike Adds Buckled Straps To The Air Rift

A never-before-seen style for the tabi-toed runner.

Nike Adds Buckled Straps To The Air Rift

It doesn’t take a genius to understand why the Nike Air Rift has been getting more love as of late. Balletcore is the “it” aesthetic for warm weather fashion this year, and while the Air Rift is a retro runner, it’s perfectly on-trend with its tabi-toed, semi-exposed tooling. Now continuing to embrace its renewed appeal, Nike is coming out with a never-before-seen style featuring buckled leather straps.

Official images reveal a leather exterior and elastic liner, both of which opt for contemporary black. While usually secured by nylon fabrics, three buckled leather straps hold the foot in place; two over the forefoot and one over the heel. In adding appeal without breaking up the all-black theme, the leather panels feature serrated, rounded edges. Moreover, the sneaker comes with a pink and yellow cherry blossom accessory.

The Nike Air Rift “Buckle Strap” doesn’t have a firm price or release date yet, but we’ll update this article as soon as that changes. Enjoy official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview other upcoming Nikes.
