Nike Air Force 1 Low “Escape” Returns On May 8th

“Opening the vault” may have stolen the spotlight from Nike’s “Cult Classics” program, an initiative that essentially delivers what it says on the tin: bring-backs for some underrated, archival colorways that’ve held onto “if you know, you know” appeal in the years since release. Though we’ve yet to see if Nike’s marketing materials will carry that exact tag, the return of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Escape” certainly carries that energy all the same.

Getting its first retro treatment since its 2002 introduction, this Air Force 1 Low isn’t even the most notable shoe to wear the “Escape” colorway of brown, red, and white. Rather, it’s the Air Force 3 that truly kicked this palette off, leading to tributes later in the catalog like the shoe at hand. Given the original shoe’s age, a one-to-one retro becomes a bit more complicated, but the material placements (perforated leather at the quarter, suede overlays) and color swatches remain true to what we got around the turn of the century.

If visually this pair catches your eye, but you don’t usually gravitate to the Air Force 1 Low, note that the Air Max 90 “Escape” also reportedly returning in 2025. A further yet more indirect focus on the colorway comes via the ongoing Nigo Air Force 3 series, easily the original model’s biggest moment in recent memory.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Escape” is already listed on SNKRS for May 8th, retailing at $150. Catch official images included below.
