Generally speaking, the second signature shoe is the most difficult to get right. Not in Charles Barkley’s case. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max CB 94 embodies the golden era of Nike Basketball; a time when signature shoes felt unequivocally unique to their athletes. Nubuck straps wrap the upper, while a jagged midsole featuring 360° Air lands underfoot. This original colorway features Black/White/Varsity Purple treatments, tying in with Phoenix Suns uniforms in lowkey fashion.

Importantly, this particular Air Max CB 94 appears to have adopted a biennial release cadence. The sneaker returned in 2021 and then again in 2023, although if you call the last release, many were put off by its lackluster quality. Regardless, these speak directly to the crowd of OGs with a penchant for 1990s hoops shoes.

As mentioned, the Air Max CB 94 OG releases May 1st, 2025 for $170. Scroll back up to our Where To Buy section for purchase links and see our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
