Awake NY’s slow and strategic rollout of their upcoming Air Jordan 5 continues as they drop a first look at the second colorway of their collaboration. Based on the iconic “Black Metallic” OG, the NY-based streetwear label adds accents of Racer Blue on the modified upper. Read on for a breakdown.
Revealed on Bronx-based young model @bobothe_kid, the Awake Air Jordan 5 is revealed with a full black tumbled leather upper, white contrast stitching, reflective silver tongues, and the distinct hue of blue on the mid-foot accents, the Awake NY x Jumpman logo lock on the tongue, the interior, and more. Like the “Arctic Pink” colorway, itself revealed recently on @sukiibaby, the brand’s “A” emblem is featured at the mid-foot, replacing the classic netting with its own modification. “23” and “NY”are featured on the heels.
Awake NY has yet to make any official announcements regarding the much-anticipated drop, but both colorways are expected to launch this September as Jordan Brand continues its year-long celebration of the Air Jordan 5.
