Updated July 2nd, 2025: A closer look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chicago” has been revealed. A release is expected on November 15th, 2025.

Nearly a decade removed from its original 2016 release, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chicago” is primed for a return to shelves. In late 2024, sources reported that the sneaker would come back as part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2025 lineup, complete with the coveted big Swoosh. Now, first look images and a learned November 15th release date prove both to be true.
You might notice that the red shade looks a bit off in this image set, sort of like JB’s “Noble Red” color as opposed to “University Red.” However, deceiving filters aren’t at all unusual when it comes to early leaks. The big news here is the return of the big Swoosh; a quality that keeps the sneaker more aligned with the original 1985 style.
The 2016 “Chicago” Jordan 1 Low OG can be found for sky-high prices on resale sites, but it wasn’t always that way. The sneaker originally sat at outlets, only gaining demand around 2018 as the Jordan 1 began its modern takeover. Jordan Brand released a handful of big Swoosh AJ1 OGs around the same time, including “Bred” and “Shadow” colorways, before tweaking the model with a smaller Swoosh years later. Now, the fan favorite quality is back in play. This “Chicago” retro is one of several big-Swooshed pairs on our Jordan Release Dates 2025 calendar, joined by “Medium Olive,” “Sail,” and “Washed Teal” colorways.
According to @zsneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chicago” is scheduled to release November 15th, 2025. Stay tuned for further updates, including official images, sizing, and pricing info.
