Matt Varga Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies’ season certainly didn’t end as they envisioned in, falling in four games to the Oklahoma City Thunder after an untimely hip contusion in Game 3. However, the absolute command over the game left hope for the Tennessee faithful, and the debut of the Ja 3 added a ton of intrigue for those with our proclivities. While we look to the August debut of his next signature shoe, there’s still time for the Ja 2 to make an impression, something that the “Bleached Turquoise” edition at hand aims to accomplish.
As seen in the Ja 2 Kool Aid capsule, ombre treatments are a growing initiative on Morant’s line, executed in far more restrained fashion here as opposed to that sugary collab. Though they haven’t rolled out jerseys with this exact combination of teal and black since the high-flyer’s rookie season, nonetheless the inspiration from classic Memphis wear is readily apparent, “fading to black” in the midsole for a creative application of this shoe’s two primary tones. A glossy Swoosh underfoot and the trequisite dose of Ja branding at the tongue, heel, and base of the lace unit close out this simplistic yet impactful profile.
The Nike Ja 2 “Bleached Turquoise” is expected to hit Nike.com and partnering retailers in June 2025, carrying the usual $120 retail price in adult sizing. Though typically Ja Morant shoes are readily accessible for the youth, at the time of this writing, we’re seeing no indications of GS or TD sizing.
