If you saw this headline coming, you’re either a Nike employee or modern day Nostradamus. In a groundbreaking crossover, Nike SB will release a skate shoe version of Charles Barkley’s signature Air Max CB 94 Low in 2026, per Sneaker Files
This obviously isn’t the first time we’ve seen a basketball shoe enter Nike’s skate canon; the Jordan 4, Jordan 1, Dunk, and Blazer can all be categorized as such. Still, something about this particular crossover feels different. The Air Max CB 94 epitomizes the golden era of Nike Basketball; a time when signature shoes actually felt like signature shoes. Original colorways like the “Black/White/Varsity Purple” are made available every two years or so, meaning the model is still very much in play for the Beaverton brand (and remains a hit among OG collectors). The low-top version was last seen in 2017, releasing in a run of essential colorways that year.
The Nike SB Air Max CB 94 Low will feature a palette of “White/Varsity Red/Gum Light Brown,” potentially bordering the look of the recent friends & family Nike SB Jordan 4. Much like the upcoming Nike SB Air Max 95 – another ambitious skate re-tooling – we’re expecting subtle yet recognizable durability enhancements.
Official images and firm release info isn’t available at this juncture, but we’ll build on our coverage as soon as that changes. According to Sneaker Files, the sneaker is due out during the Spring 2026 shopping window (between January-March).
