Nike Reimagines The Air Max 90 With A Molded Upper

Marbled "Thunderstorm" treatments add intrigue.

Nike Reimagines The Air Max 90 With A Molded Upper

As one of the most sought-after Nike Air Max models of all time, Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 90 has seen no shortage of different iterations throughout its time on shelves. From Hyperfuse and Flyknit styles in the late 2010s to more modern offshoots like the LV8 and Drift, different tooling have long been utilized to freshen up the running-turned-lifestyle classic. The latest from that realm; a new style featuring a molded, no-sew upper.

Aside from a separate fabric heel badge, all the panels and TPU elements are replace by a single structure featuring shape-defining lines. A marbled “Thunderstorm” color looms over the base, complemented by “Glacier Ice” pops on the Nike Air text, tongue tag, and outsole. Underfoot, an “Obsidian” midsole rounds out a stormy delivery.

The Nike Air Max 90 “Thunderstorm” retails for $145 and is expected to release during the Fall 2025 shopping window, meaning between July-September. See official images below and hit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming Air Max.
