Converse Collides With The The World Of Doraemon Once Again

Those who stay locked in to our coverage may be getting a sense of deja vu: “Didn’t Converse x Doraemon already happen?” You’d be correct, astute reader, but the Japan-only collection was just an appetizer for what the iconic media franchise and Boston sneaker titan had in store.

As always, it’s worth noting that Converse Japan often acts independently of the company’s stateside arm, yet coincidentally the two were aligned for this occasion. The designs on tap for this US capsule are distinct from their predecessors, yet still keep the robotic cat at the center of each colorway.

The Chuck Taylor, Chuck 70, and All Star Play Lite CX are the three silhouettes in focus for four individual pairs, beginning on the adults’ side with a fiery “Habanero Gold” geometric print that serves as a backdrop for the feline himself. Jump over to the All-Star for a more reigned-in edition, creating a mosaic pattern out of the character’s various poses atop a white base. For the kids, both pairs begin with an aquamarine base, yet diverge in their function; the All-Star Easy-On is better suited for everyday uses, while the All-Star Play Lite CX plants a Converse sole under waterproofed foam.
