Everyone and their grandfather has heard of New Balance’s sneaker-loafer hybrid by now, including other brands that have since come out with their own quirky mash-ups (HOKA, Mizuno, and Converse to name a few). September 19th, 2024 can be referenced as the earnest beginning of the trend; the day New Balance brought its ambitious 1906R spinoff to shelves for the first time. The model’s debut “Metallic Silver” colorway hovered at around $300 on third party platforms for months (including a few $500+ sales) but has since tapered off significantly as more styles have released.
