Will the New Balance 9060 be usurped by the New Balance 2000? Despite the aesthetic similarities between the two models, it seems unlikely that even the Boston brand’s buzziest fresh silhouette can unseat its lifestyle titan, still holding onto widespread adoption by casual consumers.

That unflinching demand has motivated New Balance to keep the 9060 as a constant face of seasonal catalogs, again delivered with a fresh “Calcium” adornment. In broad strokes, it’s another line drive; combining a slew of shaded greys and creams for the neutral punch that the American giant has always majored in.

Yet look a bit closer and see that there’s more than meets the eye, as the interwoven leather panelling mixes up some novel color-blocking, especially effective with the front/back split that breaks underneath the “N” branding at the quarter. Finishing off with a semi-speckled gum sole, it’s a design that manages to keep things fresh despite well-trod aesthetic territory, perfect if you need an everyday option to toss into your rotation.

As mentioned above, the New Balance 9060 “Calcium” is confirmed for a July 15th release. Be ready for the standard $150 retail price upon arrival.
