Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Banned” Releasing In 2026

Long before big-budget campaigns and Super Bowl advertisements, Jordan Brand’s marketing was done by the people through organic discovery and good ‘ol elbow grease that required you to actually show up to a release. The Air Jordan 1 “Banned” release will be one for the ages, not just for its significance to Air Jordan shoe culture, but for marking a forgotten time that will likely never be revisited ever again.

In 2011, Jordan Brand released an Air Jordan 1 “Banned,” a worthy tribute to the lore behind the exiled black and red sneaker. The release occurred years before Nike Air branding was re-established as the norm. Word of mouth alone made this sneaker one of the most memorable in the history of the Air Jordan 1, largely because the shoes released only at Nike Factory Stores and when customers could actually phone in orders and have them shipped. Those are ancient practices of course, but undoubtedly a key ingredient behind the sheer epic-ness of the release.

According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, Jordan Brand will be revisiting the “Banned” arc with a low-top execution of the model. Expect the same super-supple and soft leathers, red stock laces, and the painted “X” marks on the heel in Summer 2026.
