The Nike Air Max Craze “Marseille” Is Crazy Limited

After completing its re-introduction phase through GR colorways, the women’s Nike Air Max Craze from 2001 is continuing to check off boxes with its first ever collaboration. French football club Marseille FC has its name attached to this all-new “Sail” style, but there’s a catch. The sneaker is limited to just 1,013 pairs and is expected to release exclusively in Europe, meaning copping might prove to be a challenge.

The shoe’s limited nature is made clear on the right insole, which features Marseille’s escutcheon (shield) in “Glacier Blue” and numbering underneath. The significance of the 1,013 number isn’t exactly clear, but it likely ties in with the department code (13) for Southern France’s Bouches-du-Rhône district.

As for the sneaker itself, the Air Max Craze drops its usual nylon exterior in favor of a more airy synthetic base. Triangular overlays supposedly joined to the eyelets are visible underneath, and a braided knot replaces the model’s usual loop on the zipper. An easygoing “Sail/Soft Pearl” combination looms over the majority of the sneaker, save for “Glacier Blue” for Marseille kits on the insoles, pull tabs, and outsole detailing.

The Nike Air Max Craze “Marseille” doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but we’ll go live with another update as soon as that changes. Again; the sneaker is limited to just 1,013 pairs and is expected to release exclusively in Europe.
