Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike breakdown

The Big Bubble remains big business. In accordance with the silhouette’s 30th anniversary, the Swoosh has placed an extreme focus on Sergio Lozano’s sporty style icon, uniting with familiar partners in the opening of the year (Levi’s, Corteiz) for the model’s most high-profile moments. However, as Sneaker News exclusively reported a few months back, the AM95’s biggest pop may come from an unexpected place: via the Yu-Gi-Oh Air Max 95.

In typically inventive fashion, the first tangible seeds of this collab come on the first day of San Diego Comic Con. While in the broadest strokes we knew this pair would reference the Air Muscle, a copyright-skirting version of the 95 depicted in the anime, two display cards on display could hint at actual palettes. Indeed, consistent with our reporting that two editions are on the way, an interpretation of the classic “Neon” and a greyed-out counterpart are shown in English and Japanese variations of the cards. It’s important to note that this also confirms potential dotSWOOSH ties to the project, as QR codes lead viewers to the sub-brands’ site to subscribe for more info.

Though no concrete release date accompanies these two inventive first looks, the Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Air Max 95 remains on track for a Fall 2025 release. An accompanying apparel collection, consisting of a $200 Nike Destroyer Jacket in Blue Void/Off White and two Nike Solo Swoosh Tees, black and white, will come alongside. Catch the new shots below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page within reach for further updates.
