The Nike Kobe 9 EM Protro “University Red” Arrives October 1st

The final member of the Nike Kobe 9 EM Protro Team Bank quintet has finally been revealed, joining the Wolf Grey, Game Royal, and the Home/Away styles that surfaced some weeks ago.

First brought back into the fold with the special “Mambacita” edition on Gigi Bryant’s birthday, the Kobe 9 EM is ready to make its biggest impression yet with the TB series. Team Bank has been a staple in Nike Basketball’s product offerings for decades, ensuring athletes have enough options in concordance with league regulations. If you just prefer that pop of red, then this University Red is the right selection for you.

Although pared down from the fully-loaded Elite version, the Kobe 9 EM Protro still packs a proper punch with a breathable and lightweight Engineered Mesh upper (opposed to the Elite’s Flyknit) and a drop-in React sole. While simplistic in its color-blocking, the speckling on the midsole adds a touch of character to shoe that is clearly about its business.

This iteration is confirmed to launch on October 1st, 2025 in adult ($185) and grade school ($120) sizes.
