A natural reunion for the 35th anniversary.

mita Merges The ASICS GEL-Lyte 3 And 5 With Another “Trico” Capsule

ASICS and mita have enjoyed a bountiful relationship for over a decade, the two Japanese imprints often colliding around key milestones in the GEL-Lyte legacy. Indeed, much of their latest work has revolved around anniversaries in the product line, be it two do-ups of the GEL-Lyte 3 and 5 in 2014/15 for the 25th, in 2020 for the 30th, or with a France-centric capsule in 2024 as they started down the big 3-5.

2025 has started the celebration in earnest, and of course mita is on tap to get in on the festivities. With the just-announced ASICS GEL-Lyte ∞, mita reimagines its most frequent collaborative silhouettes, tying to the anniversary by bringing the hallmarks of the GEL-Lyte 3 to the 5. You’ll easily spot this on the tongue, which embraces the split construction that’s been a hallmark of the model throughout its run. Even if they don’t carry the same mashup theme, mita’s creative hallmarks have a heavy impact throughout the profile, utilizing the zip-closure tongue, quilted detailing, and blue/white/red “Trico” palette that’s defined much of their backlog with ASICS.

The mita sneakers x ASICS GEL-Lyte ∞ is a Japan exclusive, following a staggered release cadence: the draw is open now, the official in-store release occurs on August 8th, before remaining stock hits the webstore on August 12th.
