Nike Lets “Leopard” Print Loose On The Dunk Low And Air Force 1 Low

They’d certainly never say so, but it’d be impossible even for those within the Nike complex to not take note of the adidas Samba “Cheetah” and its reign over the casual consumer. Either as a direct follow-up or a piece of “parallel thinking,” we got some inkling of that with a duo of Field General colorways earlier this year, a wild overhaul of a genuine counterpart to the Three Stripes’ design. Just a few months after that news broke, the Swoosh is revisiting the concept with the Nike Dunk Low and Air Force 1 Low.

Conceptually, this is an equal but distinct interpretation, focusing on two models that’ve been mainstays of the catalog for decades in the same way the Samba has for adidas, rather than trying to find a silhouette that resembles their rival’s. Additionally, each gets a bit more creative with the animal print, utilizing it centralized on the collar rather than in all-over uppers. Complementary tones emanate out from that point on either shoe, but a burgundy Swoosh and tan tones unite either member of the “pack.” In a final point of intrigue, Nike may be attempting to tackle two trends simultaneously with the Air Force 1 Low here, additionally tacking a charm-like lace dubrae onto the toe.

The Nike Dunk Low and Air Force 1 Low “Leopard” will be women’s exclusives upon release — the former is confirmed for a $130 retail price, while the latter’s MSRP isn’t confirmed. Catch official images of both below and keep watch over their arrival via our Sneaker Release Dates page.
