Nike Is Bringing Back One Of The Biggest Women’s Sneaker Hits Of The 2020s

The "Shadow" gets cast again.

Nike Is Bringing Back One Of The Biggest Women’s Sneaker Hits Of The 2020s

The peak era of Virgil Abloh’s work with Nike saw the Beaverton brand attempt to replicate the designer’s deconstructed aesthetic with several in-house spinoff models — none of which caught on quite like the women’s Air Force 1 Shadow. From its debut in 2019 onward, the deconstructed spinoff became inescapable, but fans have been left waiting with no releases since early 2024. Until now. Official images reveal a “Black/Storm Pink” colorway set to release during the Fall/Winter 2025 season.

For a refresher: the Air Force 1 Shadow incorporates layered materials and deconstructed details for a somewhat three-dimensional effect. The most notable tweaks appear at the rear, including a doubled back-tab, a semi-attached secondary Swoosh on the lateral side, and an added block of rubber stamped with “Air” above the midsole. The theme continues across the toe box, eyestays, tongue, and insoles, doubling down on the overbranded aesthetic that was once wildly popular. This “Black/Storm Pink” pair is actually more reserved than what we’re accustomed to on the model, balancing two different pink shades across the signature layered details.

The women’s Nike Air Force 1 Shadow “Black/Storm Pink” releases Fall/Winter 2025, with pricing expected around $130–$140 USD. See official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse other upcoming Nikes.
