Matt Varga A staple of the Nike, Inc. catalog for as long as we can remember, the Air Jordan 1 Mid may have indirectly lost a bit of shine regarding its core selling point in recent years, as the Air Jordan 1 High has gone from belle of the secondary market ball to an easily accessible model in and of itself. Where the lower cut still has it beat is its willingness and ability to express far more animated colorways — especially in the realm of kids’ shoes.
Recently seen on our front page with a spree of food-related editions, the Air Jordan 1 Mid has taken to every manner of animated colorway, utilizing patterned panels, new branding, and everything in between to appeal to the younger set. Relative to those more transformative versions, the one at hand is almost toned down, beginning with a smattering of tonal pinks and purples across its body. Where things truly start to (literally) shine is in the Swoosh, which carries a metallic lenticular finish that’s also echoed in a rainbow-like hangtag that emphasizes this core design principle.
