Kevin Durant Odes To His Grandmother Barbara With The Nike KD 18 “B.A.D.”

The next chapter honoring the family matriarch.

Kevin Durant Odes To His Grandmother Barbara With The Nike KD 18 “B.A.D.”

2025 will be looked back at as a “comeback” year for Nike Basketball. The Swoosh has been delivering some of the most-wanted hoops shoes to the market largely due to a laudable combination of story-telling and sharp design, a combination made evident on the upcoming Nike KD 18 “B.A.D.” set for later this year.

While that three-letter acronym might be mistaken as a description of Durant’s game, B.A.D. is short for Barbara A. Davis, the late grandmother of Easy Money Sniper. After her passing in early 2022, Durant and Nike embarked on this purple-based colorway series that heralds the matriarchal figures in his family.

Earlier chapters of the Nike KD “B.A.D.” series were largely based on purple, but the upcoming KD 18 shares the spotlight with hits of Fire Pink and Hemp tan. Simply on a colorway standpoint, Nike hit one out of the park. The fact that these have such a warm connection to Durant’s personal life only adds to its appeal.

Currently, a release date is expected for October 1st, 2025 for $155 at select Nike Basketball retailers. Also dropping in October is the upcoming Aunt Pearl KD 18s.
