LeBron James And Nike Return To South Beach

The King's trainer sneaker gets a familiar colorway.

LeBron James And Nike Return To South Beach

Through the Nike LeBron 23, Nike Basketball is celebrating The King’s career highlights with 23 sneaker releases inspired by 23 different chapters of LeBron’s journey. That said, the LeBron 23 isn’t the only reason we’re revisiting the future Hall-of-Famer’s past. With the LeBron 23 “Miami Twice” set for October 9th, the LeBron TR1 training sneaker is also headed to South Beach with a familiar mix of teal and pink.

2025 marks the fifteenth anniversary of “The Decision,” and with it, the fifteenth anniversary of the Nike LeBron 8 “South Beach.” The sneaker dropped months after LeBron’s decision to leave his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers for sunny Miami, joining the likes of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in what’s now regarded as the beginning of the modern NBA superteam era. If only for its ability to capture the gravity of LeBron’s move on the NBA universe, that LeBron 8 is still considered one of (if not the best) LeBron James sneakers of all time, a design that has influenced countless Nike releases since.

The LeBron TR1 training shoe, which first released around this time last year, now does its best “South Beach” impression with a balanced mix of teal and pink. The shoe’s mesh upper appears entirely in teal with pink lace loops, while the midsole features a pink-to-teal gradient on the lateral side and solid pink on the medial. If there were any doubt about the inspiration, a palm tree graphic on the tongue pull tab seals the theme.

The Nike LeBron TR1 “South Beach” releases soon via nike.com and select retailers for $135. See official images below if you’re looking to cop a pair.
