The Air Jordan 1 Revisits “Bred” For Its “Element” Rebrand

A fresh spin on a classic, in multiple ways.

The Air Jordan 1 Revisits “Bred” For Its “Element” Rebrand

Suffice it to say, the Air Jordan 1 has worn plenty of hats in its 40 years on the shelves. Even the basest notes of its legacy—going from one of the best basketball performance models at the time of its introduction to an enduring style icon in the current day—are ones of transformation. While we continue to see Mike’s first signature twisted and bent into new lanes with silhouettes like the Jordan 1 Brooklyn or Jordan 1 Method of Make v3, there’s no doubt a different energy exudes from its latest, the Air Jordan 1 Element Low.

Following in the footsteps of a model of nearly the same name that paced the newswire earlier this decade, it’s immediately apparent that its low-cut silhouette takes things on more comprehensively. While the High could easily be mistaken for a proper AJ1 look from a distance, the same can’t be said of the shoe at hand. Equipped with heavy lugged traction and GORE-TEX fabric, a host of outdoorsy tweaks like dual pull-tabs, boot-inspired laces, and speckled midsoles tie back to Nike, Inc.’s history of conditions-ready gear.

Given that spirit of reimagining, perhaps it’s only right that the Jordan 1 Element Low explores a new take on “Bred,” breaking from the 1985 definition by dotting an all-black foundation with select fiery hits, concentrated on the pull tabs and a strip of exposed stitching at the collar.

The Air Jordan 1 Element Low “Bred” doesn’t carry a concrete release date, but the silhouette as a whole begins with a trio of colorways on October 1st. Generally, expect a $200 MSRP and a Q4 debut for the shoe at hand. Keep our Jordan Release Dates page within reach in the coming weeks for more on this pair and all that the Jumpman has in store for a loaded Holiday season.
