Up Close With The Porsche-Inspired Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 993

Feeling regretful? We sure are (or at least I am). After being made available for preorder in December of last year, the Porsche-inspired Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 993 “Mulberry Green” is finally starting to ship out to consumers. New images posted by @mpastitsio give us our most detailed look yet — only reinforcing the fact that these are indeed a banger.

Long wait times for sneaker preorders aren’t necessarily rare, and this is something we’ve seen time and again with Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance collaborations (as seen with the New Balance 550, 860v2, and several other releases). The trade-off is that you know your pair is secure (barring any production issues), but you’ve got to wait months — in this case, almost ten months — to finally get your hands on them.

As our regular readers will recall, Aimé Leon Dore unveiled the sneaker in November 2024 alongside a custom Porsche 993 Turbo that was on display at the brand’s London store. Matching the car, the Made in USA model here features premium “Mulberry Green” suede, a bright yellow sockliner, and ALD branding on the insoles and heel. Just plain beautiful.

As of this writing, there are no announced plans for the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 993 “Mulberry Green” to become available for purchase again. If you passed up on preordering and are now feeling regretful (like me), your best resource is the aftermarket.
