Pokémon x adidas Releasing Fall 2026 For The Anime’s 30th Anniversary

What To Know:
– Pokémon is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2026
– The popular anime has a collection with adidas Originals for Fall 2026
– Confirmed shoes are: Samba, Superstar, Adistar XLG 2.0

Pokémon really saw Yu-Gi-Oh! collaborate with Nike and said, “bet.” Sneaker News has learned that the iconic Japanese manga, anime, card, and video game franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary with another adidas collection in 2026.

Pokémon and adidas are no strangers to one another, with the two brands previously linking for a major collection back in 2020. With 2026 marking the 30th anniversary of the anime franchise, there’s every reason to believe this next drop will match — if not surpass — the output of their last.

No images of the upcoming Pokémon x adidas collection have surfaced yet, but we already know which sneaker models will be featured. The adidas Samba and Superstar are obvious inclusions, both pillars of the Three Stripes’ lifestyle category. We’re also hearing that the adidas Adistar XLG 2.0 — essentially a budget version of Pharrell’s adidas Jellyfish — will play a key role.

As of this writing, the Pokémon x adidas anniversary capsule is slated to release September 2026. Stay tuned for further updates over the coming months.

A brief history of Pokémon

Pokémon began as a video game concept created by Satoshi Tajiri and developed by Game Freak. Inspired by his childhood hobby of collecting insects, Tajiri envisioned a game centered on capturing, trading, and battling creatures. This idea came to life in 1996 with the release of Pocket Monsters for the Nintendo Game Boy in Japan, introducing players to a world inhabited by 151 unique creatures and sparking a cultural phenomenon. The franchise quickly expanded beyond gaming, launching an anime series, trading card game, toys, and movies.
