Cooper Flagg Is Finally Dropping His First New Balance Shoe

The rook jams home his first earnest sneaker release.

Cooper Flagg Is Finally Dropping His First New Balance Shoe

In what is among the more unbelievable sequences of events in NBA history, the Mavericks managed to thread an incredibly tight needle after trading away a franchise legend in the making with some help from the lottery odds. Cooper Flagg has almost instantly filled that void, but it’s not only those in Dallas banking heavily on the future of the Duke product. New Balance has hopes that Mr. Flagg will soon become the standard-bearer for their hoops division.

As the #1 overall pick looks to his first regular season action versus a former one in Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, New Balance is capitalizing on those bright lights. A special version of the New Balance Hesi Low v2 that bears Flagg’s name will be the first official drop under his sponsorship, building on the player and the brand’s shared Maine roots. While trademark greys and off-whites create the foundation for this shoe, that home state energy courses through viridescent hits in the sole unit and on the lacestays, an ode to “the state’s natural landscape.”

Luckily, this isn’t just a PE for Cooper Flagg — the New Balance Hesi Low v2 will release the same day as his proper NBA debut, dropping on October 22nd with a $120 retail price.
