First Look At The Nike SB Air Force 1

But are they skateable?

First Look At The Nike SB Air Force 1

After taking its talents to Sergio Lozano’s Air Max 95 earlier this year, Nike SB is set to check off another “first” with an Air Force 1 crossover in 2026.

While the Air Force 1 shares aesthetic similarities with the Dunk Low, this is probably Nike SB’s most daring skate retooling to date. Any skater will tell you that it’s important to have good ground feel, and the Air Force 1’s chunky sole unit isn’t exactly ideal for delivering that sensation. With that being said, as evidenced by the SB Jordan 4 and Air Max 95, many of these Nike SB retoolings are sought by collectors as opposed actual skaters (not that those are mutually exclusive). If you’re looking for some assurance, Nike SB team rider Eric Koston has been spotted wear-testing the model in recent months, which should instill some level of confidence that the sneaker is, in fact, skateable.

Rumors of a Nike SB x AF1 began swirling online in June 2024 and were supported by images of a black sample colorway (which is vastly different from the version we have before us today). Prior to that, images of Nike SB Dunk/Air Force 1 hybrids went viral back in the 2010s, many of which belonged to sneakerheads with deep pockets like Mayor and Fat Joe.

This “Flax” colorway needs no introduction, aligning closely with the synonymous Air Force 1 Workboot style (which recently returned, by the way). As far as the hardware goes, nothing in particular really stands out visually.

When does the Nike SB Air Force 1 release?

Multiple Nike Air Force 1 SB colorways are expected to release during the Spring 2026 shopping season. It’s likely that pairs will drop through Nike SNKRS and skate shops. See first-look images of the “Flax” below and stay tuned for further updates.
