Andrew Rizzo We’re less than two weeks removed from the start of the 2025–26 college basketball season, and Nike is ensuring its sponsored programs have their sneaker heat in order in the lead-up. The women’s team at Duke recently showed off a set of player edition Nike Kobe 5s, and now the LSU Tigers have received a Nike Ja 3 that’s got us eager for more.
In all honesty, what makes these compelling has less to do with special detailing and more to do with the model itself. LSU’s high-contrast purple and gold palette is simply perfect on the Nike Ja 3, underscoring the sneaker’s liberal use of Ja’s signature logo. The arrow-shaped Ja sheath provides claw-like detailing up top and traction underfoot, delivering both a performance edge and aesthetic appeal in line with Ja’s aggressive play style. LSU logos dot the lateral side of the midsole just under a yellow “A,” which helps spell out Ja’s name when paired with the Swoosh. It also appears the tongue features a soft suede fabric for an elevated touch.
