Matt Varga South Korean outfit Unaffected has proven one of ASICS’ most steady partners on the Asian continent, already notching team-up efforts on the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 and the ASICS GEL-Kayano 20. The imprint’s love for gorpcore aesthetics and the running family overall branch are in focus once again for the Unaffected ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1.
While the label has already leaned simplistic with their previous work, kitting the 20 in three tonal looks and the 14 in similar fashion in teal and brown, this easily presents as their ost understated yet. A trio of “Gunmetal/Black,” “Silver/Black,” and “Black/Black” colorways overtake the mashup construction, a silhouette first debuted by KITH before trickling out to the mainline throughout 2025. In further trademark fashion, pull tab closures earnestly stamp the outdoorsy inspiration on display through this full capsule. Barring the all-black edition, some visual intrigue arrives with the split color-blocking on display on the other two counterparts, separating the midline and medial sides with lighter accent shades that help some arresting flares creep onto these otherwise nocturnal pairs.
