Over the last few years, the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 has enjoyed some time in the spotlight. Having debuted in 2008, the performance running silhouette has found a second life among “dad shoe” trend enthusiasts.

Recently, South Korean label UNAFFECTED (@unaffected.co.kr on Instagram) unveiled three collaborative pairs of the GEL-cushioned design. Netizens have been quick to draw comparisons to the unreleased trio and work from Kiko Kostadinov, the Bulgarian designer that’s been curating the ASICS SportStyle line since October 2020. Additionally, the upcoming sneakers feature speed lacing systems that fall in line with other “gorpcore” offerings on the market.

The bunch by UNAFFECTED delivers mostly uniform looks, although grey and black complement teal, white, and steel finishes. Early pictures of the shoes don’t reveal obvious co-branding, although the South Korean label stamps its name on the sock-liners.

Not much is known about the collaboration, but that’s likely to change soon. As you wait, enjoy a closer look at the shoes ahead, courtesy of Up To Date on Twitter.
