Matt Varga Clint419 was handed a high honor to end 2024, as Corteiz penned the first-ever collaboration on the Nike Air Trainer Huarache. Of course, as Nike is wont to do, bringing in a third party was but an appetizer. The latest era of the Nike Air Trainer Huarache is now officially upon us, and a “Triple Black” takeover lands as trademark confirmation.
Highlighting the UK imprint’s efforts is particularly relevant in this case, as while the shoe at hand doesn’t carry the hairy uppers that helped the Corteiz version stand apart from the pack, this is almost a “Corteiz at home” style endeavor as it doubles back to that murdered-out look. In lieu of that wilder material choice, the Air Trainer Huarache maintains its retro combination of matte leather, nubuck, and synthetics, the latter famously included on the midfoot strap. And yes, true to Tinker Hatfield’s first sketches and the model’s water-skiing origin story as a whole, the neoprene bootie that made this shoe such a trailblazer is intact.
As mentioned above, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache “Triple Black” releases on November 8th with a retail price of $170.
