The adidas “Squid” Is Hitting Stores This Weekend

Well this is a surprise.

The adidas “Squid” Is Hitting Stores This Weekend

The adidas Adistar XLG 2.0, or the “Squid,” has been the talk of the sneaker world in recent weeks. Some say it’s a good thing that adidas is releasing a cost-conscious version of Pharrell’s adidas Jellyfish, while others argue that the takedown model might detract from the aura surrounding the collaborative design. That debate is poised to heat up sooner than expected.

Initially pegged for Spring 2026, we’re now learning that the grey colorway of the adidas “Squid” sneaker is set to release via retailers in Europe on November 15th. Included as part of our larger Adistar XLG 2.0 preview from earlier this year, the sneaker keeps things simple with monochrome grey touches throughout.

The Adistar running franchise appears to be a major focus for adidas moving forward, led by models like the “Squid” as well as the Control 5, Cushion 3, and new silhouettes such as the Adistar MLD and Adistar Mary Jane. Much like the adidas Jellyfish, the “Squid” exaggerates the proportions of the Adistar Cushion 3 with bold TPU detailing and a chunkier, wider frame.

As mentioned, the Adistar XLG 2.0, also known as the “Squid,” is hitting retailers in Europe on November 15th, 2025, earlier than expected. Retail is set at $150, exactly half the price of the Jellyfish. Return to our Where To Buy section below for purchase links on that date.
