A Peek Into The Future Of The adidas Climacool Series

Next steps in the Three Stripes' tech family.

A Peek Into The Future Of The adidas Climacool Series

In many ways, 3D-printed footwear has been among the buzzier plotlines in footwear throughout 2025, aligning with Nike’s ongoing celebrations of the 110 via the Air Max 95000 or channeled through adidas’ work on the Climacool series. Though the Three Stripes has already innovated a bit with a Laced lifestyle version of their synthetic composition, a showcase overseas allowed attendees a preview of what’s on deck in the months to come, something we can now share with our readership as imagery of that event trickles out.

We should note off the top that the core adidas Climacool in its slip-on, one-piece formulation remains a load-bearing piece of the strategy, seen with the inclusion of the “Glory Grey” colorway and a yet-untitled metallic silver-and-beige version. However, there are a few new extensions of the family, beginning with what appears to be the “adidas Futurecool.” Rather than the one-piece, gridded hardware seen on the Climacool and Climacool Laced, the Futurecool pairs a lattice sole and upper cage with a synthetic, sock-like interior, creating what’s almost an exoskeleton. Somewhere in between that two-piece build and the one-piece predecessor sits the “Futurecraft X,” radically shifting the lattice formation to resemble a more traditional runner, flaring out within the heel and molded for a wavy upper that dips at the collar and crests at the heel.

Little information is available with regard to when these silhouettes will actually hit the market, but they’re expected to be pieces of the ’26/’27 cadence as the Climacool line matures. Get an extra-early sense of what’s in the works via the images below.
