However, ASICS has taken that concept a bit further than its peers. The earliest seeds of that came with the ASICS GEL-NYC, created with the help of Awake NY and founder Angelo Baque. That playbook gained another chapter with the ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1, originating as a Ronnie Fieg/KITH creation that mashed up the hardware notes of multiple tech runner styles from the Japanese giant’s catalog.
After deployment in several earnest collaborations with the NYC imprint, the ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 has emerged as a player in the inline catalog. Yet it’s not only run-of-the-mill mainline looks that have defined the shoe’s general-release colorways. A more special-edition air seeps onto the GEL-Kayano 12.1 “Holiday Injection” pack, a duo of shimmering colorways now trickling out to the newswire. The capsule comprises two contrasting white and black applications, united in their use of iridescent leather overlays. The brighter pair brackets that with orange detailing, whereas its darker counterpart opts for light blue.
The ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 “Holiday Injection” Pack hasn’t been announced for an official ASICS release just yet, but you can get in on either pair early via select retailers.
