Matt Varga atmos’ collaboration machine never slows down. Already chalking off countless collaborations with the likes of Nike and adidas throughout the year, their atmos pink sub-imprint is getting in on the action. The venerated streetwear imprint is additionally pulling in OJOS, a a South Korean “gorpcore” label for a revamp on the ASICS GEL-1130 RE.
Simply based off the mission statement of either label, it’s easy to parse how this ASICS GEL-1130 came to be. The tonal, neutral aesthetics that descend on the tech runner, a split between a rich brown sole unit and a steely grey, clearly speak to the outdoorsy aesthetics that OJOS already peddles in. It’s in the finer details where the delicate leanings of atmos pink really shine, from the rounded, jewel-like overhaul of the typical pull-closure system on the laces, to the star-shaped co-branded charm that rounds out this affair.
