District Vision’s Latest New Balance Running Collab Includes A Good Luck Token

The running market today looks vastly different than it did ten years ago. Footwear brands are still obsessed with performance, sure, but the rise of run clubs and people making running pretty much their whole identity has created a new genre of elevated performance wear. New Balance’s key partner in that space is District Vision, a SoCal-based sports sunglasses brand that has branched out into broader performance apparel since its creation in 2016.

Following a collab on the New Balance MT10 trail runner earlier this year, District Vision and New Balance are headed back to the road with tasteful touch-ups of the FuelCell SuperComp Elite v5, the Boston brand’s most advanced race day shoe ever. District Vision’s signature style brings delicate, small “N” logos to each side, attached to the base by four strings of red fabric. Each shoe includes a removable co-branded coin medallion, inspired by a Japanese good luck token given to District Vision co-founder Tom Daly before a marathon in 2014.

Pearl Grey and Linen colorways of the District Vision x New Balance SC Elite v5 have already dropped through the District Vision site. The collection is slated to hit the New Balance website on November 20th. Budget for a $295 price tag if you’re considering copping, which is about $30 more than the standard non-collab pairs.
