Andrew Rizzo emmi isn’t a name widely known in the sneaker world, but you could argue that’s partly by design. The Japanese women’s apparel and yoga brand is defined by its understated, sporty-chic design language, and that sensibility has carried over into its growing sneaker portfolio. Past collabs with ASICS, Reebok, and adidas have largely leaned into GR-adjacent subtlety, and the brand’s latest ASICS project follows the same formula: a quiet, considered touch-up of the resurgent GEL-Cumulus 16 silhouette.
Grey and beige mesh forms the base layer, paired with brown underlays and grey overlays. Light beige also highlights the sides and the GEL cushioning capsules underfoot, while the lining and outsole both arrive in soft grey. Note that the official image gallery depicts a light green tint, but in-hand shots reveal a far more neutral beige presentation.
The 2014-born GEL-Cumulus 16 is still a relatively new entry (or re-entry) to the ASICS Sportstyle catalog, sitting comfortably alongside models like the GEL-Kayano 14 and GEL-NYC.
