LeBron James Makes Season Debut In Nike LeBron 23 “40k Gold”

LeBron James has been the embodiment of durability throughout his two plus decades in the league, a testament to his intense yet smart commitment to fitness and meticulous body care that started when he was young. That discipline has allowed the now 40 year old to continue playing like he is in his mid 20s deep into his career, but year 23 has been a little different. LeBron missed his first-ever opening night due to a nerve injury that caused shooting pains down his lower back and right leg, which also derailed much of his offseason work.

Thankfully, our king has returned and is back to looking like himself. James kicked off his record-breaking 23rd season last night against the Utah Jazz, putting up a double double on strong efficiency in a 140 to 126 Lakers win. On foot was the Nike LeBron 23 “40k Gold”, also known as “Uncharted,” a gilded celebration of LeBron becoming the first player to score 40,000 points. The sneaker dropped in early October as the inaugural release of the silhouette, kicking off a 23 pair series inspired by James’s basketball journey.

The LeBron 23 “40k Gold” has been sold out for some time, so your best option if you are trying to secure a pair is the aftermarket. The next LeBron 23 release is the “From This Point Forward,” likely dropping in December, featuring a design inspired by LeBron’s 2002 Sports Illustrated cover.
