Andrew Rizzo Air Jordan purists, shield your eyes. The Jumpman is adding a new member to the Air Jordan 1 family with the Jordan 1 Triple Stack for women, a new platformed silhouette featuring three whole ass sole units placed directly on top of one another.
This is an avenue Jordan Brand has been willing to explore before, evident in silhouettes like the Jordan 1 Brooklyn and especially the Jordan 1 Low Elevate, the latter of which ceased releasing earlier this year. Other brands have experimented with similar ideas too, from platformed adidas Sambas to chunky Chuck Taylors to numerous PUMA offerings.
The Jordan 1 Triple Stack distinguishes itself with three dedicated midsole–outsole pairings literally stacked on top of one another, as if Jordan Brand simply hit copy and paste on the tooling multiple times. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG cut is utilized up top, complete with the resurgent big Swoosh a la the recent “Chicago” retro. The tongue is made from lined corduroy, the Wings logo is stitched (not printed) onto the heel, and handwritten branding appears on both the tongue tag and insoles.
Two colorways of the Jordan 1 Triple Stack have surfaced so far: a UNC-adjacent “Psychic Blue” and a “Team Red/Sanded Gold” option.
