A mean streak added to the Swoosh's festive slate.

Nike SB Dunk Low “Krampus” Releases On November 29th; December 2nd on SNKRS

As one of the more steadfast narrative canvases in Nike’s bandolier, you’d be able to dredge up some colorway, collaborative or in-line, for nearly every holiday on the calendar. On their own two, the Swoosh has represented St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and the Chinese New Year, while Boston retailer CNCPTS has done some end-of-year heavy lifting with their “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and “Turducken.” As the sprint to the holiday season really kicks into high gear, the skating imprint is shifting towards a darker side of winter traditions with the Nike SB Dunk Low “Krampus.”

Yes, rather than nodding to the North Pole or some tangible hallmarks of festive get-togethers, Nike SB looks to Central and Eastern Europe, pulling from the horned mythological figure that looms over misbehaving children. It’s not hard to spot the nocturnal themes that poke through on the shoe itself, featuring crackled leather and raw leather edges to evoke fiery motifs. The same goes for a translucent patch of red in the outsole, while the textural changes continue with a woven overhaul of the puffy tongue. To really drill down the devilish concept, a mischievous sketch of this colorway’s namesake appears on a branded hangtag and in monochrome on the insoles.

To redouble what we put forth in our title, local skate shops should be releasing the Nike SB Dunk Low “Krampus” on November 29th. A launch via SNKRS is already loaded in the app for December 2nd. Be ready for a $130 retail price regardless of where you seek out your pair.
