INVINCIBLE Brought The Right Amount Of Wear And Tear To Their Vans Collaboration

Taiwanese retailer INVINCIBLE is reconnecting with Vans for their second collaboration, bringing the shop’s signature distressed aesthetic to the timeless Old Skool and an exclusive take on the lesser-seen Sk8 Mid.

Much like the brand’s recent work on the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1, easily one of the strongest ASICS projects of the year, INVINCIBLE deconstructs both Vans silhouettes for a rugged, worn-in look. The inspiration comes from heavily used skate shoes, arriving pre-weathered to look like they’ve already logged hours at the park. The Old Skool features blue denim, while the Sk8 Mid goes black. Both pairs include paint splatter, exposed foam collars, and frayed edges throughout. Once naturally distressed, each style reveals Vans’ iconic checkerboard pattern underneath.

The INVINCIBLE x Vans “Off The Rhyme” collection is available through a raffle on the INVINCIBLE website from now until December 4th. The Old Skool is priced at $3,980 TWD (about $125 USD), while the Sk8 Mid comes in at $4,180 TWD (about $135 USD). The Old Skool will see a broader global release at select retailers and Vans stores on December 6th. The Sk8 Mid remains an INVINCIBLE exclusive.
