Gallery Dept. Brings Paint Splatters Back To The Vans Authentic 44

Vans’ far-reaching collaborator rolodex continues to churn out strong projects. Following a distressed pack by Taiwan’s INVINCIBLE, the SoCal skate/surf brand is reconvening with Josué Thomas’s label Gallery Dept. on another paint-splattered Authentic 44, this time in a black colorway to accompany the duo’s white pair from earlier this year.

Multicolor paint is applied by hand to the forefoot, immediately recalling the studio’s ASICS GT-2160 from 2023, still one of the most sought-after ASICS collabs of the past decade.

Red text reading “Art That Kills” wraps distressed sidewalls, joined by Gallery Dept. branding on the insoles and exterior tag. Underneath it all is a classic black-and-white Authentic 44 with a blue accent stripe.

If this black colorway performs anything like the white pair, expect it to sell quickly. The shoe drops December 11th via vans.com/otw and select Vans/Gallery Dept. retailers worldwide. Retail is set at $150 USD. See official images below if you’re moved to cop.
