Key sneaker holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Chinese New Year aren’t just about giving seasonal styles to popular models. In Nike and Jordan Brand’s eyes, they’re also an opportunity to give some of the brand’s lesser-sought silhouettes a bit of time in the spotlight by tying them into larger collections. Exhibit A is this Grade School Jordan Legacy 312 created for the “Year of the Horse” next Spring.
Originally released in 2018 in partnership with Don C, the Legacy 312 is a hybrid model that pulls design elements from the Jordan 1, Jordan 3, and the Nike Air Alpha Force Low. While it doesn’t receive new styles all that often these days, the high-top version has become something of a familiar presence in Nike Inc.’s annual Chinese New Year lineups, so its inclusion for the “Year of the Horse” comes as little surprise.
This Grade School pair keeps things relatively domesticated, featuring white and grey leather throughout, debossed Wings logos on the ankle flaps, and red hits on the collar, outsole, Swooshes, and backtab. Gold accents across the branding serve as the clearest indicators of the shoe’s Chinese New Year significance.
The Jordan Legacy 312 “Year of the Horse” is expected to release Spring 2026 in Grade School sizing, likely around Chinese New Year in late February. See official images below if you’re considering picking up a pair for yourself or your little one.
