Much ink has been spilled on the reformatting of the Swoosh’s running line (no small portion on our end). Attention understandably goes to silhouettes like the Vomero Plus or Pegasus Premium, but don’t discount the “Icon” part of the equation; for much of Nike’s consumer base, shelling out upwards of $200 on a superstack trainer may not be worth the squeeze.
If that accurately describes your feelings, the Nike Structure 26 is worth a look as part of the more accessible half of the performance catalog, marching along even without stealing the headlines that those aforementioned stars elicit so consistently. As if to fire back at the attention-grabbing looks of either one, the Structure 26 here uncovers a Matrix-like gridded edition, coated in checkerboard patterns that warp and bend in almost relativistic fashion.
In a creative flip on usual white/black fare, that array in the upper inverts coloring within the sole and mudguard. To cement the digital inspo for this pair, Nike’s patented “Volt” peers through in various branding hits before entirely enveloping the insoles.
The Nike Structure 26 featured here is expected to hit shelves on January 1st, retailing for $165.
